Cover reveals

When I started out as a hapless writer, I didn't want to spend any money. I didn't know if any one wanted to buy the book. One thing I did shell out on was a proper edit. Reading a lot of Indie writer now, I realise the DIY approach is not always the right one. Don't get me wrong, some clever writers can edit, design and are marketing experts to boot, but most of us are not. Much as I liked my original weird dog photo, it stood out on the virtual book shelf as some weird art students project, not a sexy book cover. Much as we writers hate it, a book does get judged on it's cover.
I put my feelers out amongst my supportive writers group and got recommended; Patti Roberts at Paradox book covers. Judge for yourself but I think the new covers look very sexy!

Blood Ties: Language in the Blood Book 2

posted Feb 14, 2015, 2:04 AM by Adam Lockwood

After meeting his maker on the battlefields of the First World War, Cameron Blair has spent almost a century coming to terms with his new vampire identity. Along with a taste for human blood and lapdogs, he has acquired the linguistic skills of his victims and learned to survive in the shady underbellies of Europe’s great cities. The end of Language in the Blood sees Cameron facing a dilemma when blame for one of his kills gets laid at his best friend George’s feet. Cameron discovers a deeply buried vestige of humanity and surrenders to the French authorities - a decision he soon regrets as it becomes clear they don’t have quite the same heroic role for a vampire agent in mind that his own vivid imagination does.

$0,99

KDP select has added this new feature where you can reduce the price of your book for a set time, while still keeping your percentage of royalties. I decided to give it a try and will be reducing the price of my book to $0.99 from the 8th until the 14th of November. So if you haven’t bought the book yet, now is the time to do it. If you have bought the book and liked it; please share it on your blog or Facebook page and tell your friends. I have been told by many people that they thought it was very funny. I’m hoping a reduced price will result in some reviews too.

I’m very new at the publishing game and at the moment I’m experimenting with different promotions. It’s exiting as I have no idea how this will go, but I’m looking forwards to seeing some data at the end of the promotion. Here is the link to Amazon.com

Free book promotion

On my rare day off I'm trying to promote the book. It is hard to get noticed in a world saturated by self published books. The only way to stand out on Amazon is by the amount of 5 star reviews. I don't want to rely on friends and family to write reviews. People notice these things and won't take the reviews serious. I decided that to get reviews I'd do a free promotion for 5 days. It will run from the 20th to the 24th of September. I have advertised the promotion on various blogs and I've written to a few bloggers. Fingers crossed it will have the desired result. So far reaction to the book has been very positive, so I know if I can get more people to read it, it will take off.

Follow this link to get it free during the promotional period.

I've set up a blogspot page

If writing a book has done one thing; it dragged me screaming and kicking into the 2010's!
To promote the book I have been getting familiar with book blogs, following bloggers, setting up a Google account and now I have hesitantly joined the blogger community itself.
